February Vacations...they're the best!

After being sunshine-starved, our little family headed to the sunny skies of Key West for a week-long vacation.  This was Vivi's second airplane adventure, but the first one happened when she was just six months old, so it was not really memorable.  This one, however...

The next picture was taken on the seven mile bridge going to the lower Keys.  It wasn't as dramatic this time...and the last time I was there was 30 years ago.  Megan was almost the same age as Vivian during that trip.

On the beach at Key West...
The view from our hotel room...this was a beautiful place.  Ocean's End, Key West, but it was really situated on Stock Key.

I had totally forgotten about the chickens running loose in Key West.  Amusing, but annoying.
The Key West Butterly Preserve and Botanical Garden.  Spectacular!

And of course, the iconic photo in everyone's album from their Key West Visit.

Monday at Home

I'm usually attracted to bright shiny things, but lately rusty things are getting my attention. Rusty things and burlap...authentic things.

Today is day 4 of my 'vacation.' Swirling possibilities of things to do and accomplish during this time off---maybe some painting (furniture and/or walls), definitely some cupboard cleaning and organization, and some sewing. Soap and jelly making...it's all a possibility. Time off---full of possibilities.

Playcation, day 1

Off to the flea market at the Tennessee State fairgrounds today...hope to find some of the neat junk I see other bloggers find there! Pictures later...

Monday, At Home

Cyclamen...so pretty and delicate. Every time I buy indoor plants, I start feeling bad for them. My abilities as an indoor gardener leave much to be desired. It's a rare occurrence when I can keep plants alive long enough to survive the winter season. The little potted plants always look so cheery and hopeful...only to curl up and die. I promise to try harder with the cyclamen and the primroses...I promise!
This is what I will be doing today...browsing through magazines, gleaning ideas from them, drinking coffee, in general--having a lazy day. Later in the afternoon, if it warms up a bit, I may go sign up for a calligraphy class for tomorrow to take with a friend of mine. All of this will be followed by knitting, a little sewing, and sketching out a prototype for my Hip Hop Easter Swap item.

Catching Up

It's been awhile...as usual, not much going on.  As I look through photos on my phone, I decided to do a little blog post. Last Monday...
