The beat goes on...

Via Pinterest

I don't think there has been a Friday in the past year or so that I haven't had the words from that YouTube sensation Rebecca Black go through my head..."It's Friday, Friday, got to get down on Friday..."  Kind of starts the day on an "up" note, regardless of how annoying most (probably all) people feel about this so-called song.

Facebook was filled with a pay-it-forward creativity post yesterday.  I reposted the comment on my "status"...I think it's kind of cool, and definitely reminiscent of the blog pay-it-forward deal from a few years ago.
2013 Creative Pay It Forward: the first five people who comment on this will receive a gift from me in the next calendar year-- baked goods, jewelry, book craft, or art. I will send it to you whenever I "feel" it is the right time to do so. The catch? You have to post this on your wall and pay it forward! Message me your address after you comment here and repost! Who's in?
I'm going to open this up to blog readers...just repost the above message on your blog, with appropriate edits regarding the nature of your gift.  First five commenters to play...send me your address via email (hit the button on the side bar).

That funny feeling...

The day started out with beautiful, fluffy snow...it coated the icy branches of trees and was just gorgeous...a clean white blanket. Work was super busy this afternoon, either with people returning items they couldn't because of last week's weather, or people stocking up for the coming week. DVDs were the big deal today.

I tried to catch up on Academy Award-nominated films in the past few days...Michael Clayton, American Gangster, La Vie en Rose, Elizabeth- the Golden Age, but, for the most part, the films didn't seem to hold my interest. It seems I would rather drift off to sleep with some form of Law & Order as background noise...always a constant in my life.

So many people in my department have fallen victim to the flu going around; my hands are dried out from constant washing, and I've upped the vitamin C intake. I do not want to get sick, but for the past several hours I feel myself circling the drain...sore throat, dry itchy eyes, aches and pains. Yuck. Maybe a cup of Thera Flu as preventative medication before bedtime...

I have lots of pictures to share of a few blog giveaways I've been lucky enough to win (from A Scrapbook of Inspiration - Karen Harvey Cox, and Rosie @ Rosie's Whimsey) and a Pay It Forward gift from Mary at The Little Red House. Those will have to be tomorrow's post...a few of the pictures didn't do the items justice, so I must try again.

Pay It Forward Craft Exchange

Photo from Crabapple Hill Studio

I've been reading about this Pay It Forward exchange on a few blogs, so when I read about it on Mary's Little Red House blog I decided to sign up. Here's the deal:

I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. If anyone is interested in joining in, I will send a handmade gift to the first three to leave a comment with their promise to pay it forward.

Please, please, please...will three people sign up to play? The first 3 commenters who commit to joining in on the Pay It Forward exchange will receive a handmade gift from me. It won't take 365 days as the rules state, and I'm not sure what the gift will be (I dabble in many crafts).

Catching Up

It's been awhile...as usual, not much going on.  As I look through photos on my phone, I decided to do a little blog post. Last Monday...
