A Primitive Christmas

This picture is taken in one of my favorite areas of the house...a little square hallway that is the intersection of kitchen, diningroom, bedrooms and bathroom. The area can become quite the "catch-all"; the bookcase (below the barn red chest) is filled with cookbooks...and assorted other items that just haven't found a home yet. This Christmas "look" is what I usually strive for...primitive and simple. That's why it's so odd that I'm attracted to the glitz and glitter this holiday season.

It is wonderful in your favorite area!

I think sometimes what we are attracted to and what we end up with can be at odds sometimes! For me, I just use what I have. In this season of life with all I am doing I just don't devote time to creating or buying new things. I suppose if I was starting over and money and time were no object perhaps I'd be doing something entirely different! For now, I go with what I have. :-)

I love that you have an area that is a catchall, it is nice to have a chest to hide some things too. I have been wishing for closed storage in my office area because it becomes a catchall, not a pretty site sometimes.

Happy Holidays!

I love the doll on top of that beautiful red chest!! Sometimes I find myself attracted to things that are completely opposite my usual taste ... not sure why but it's always fun to look and imagine a new look. Most of the time I go back to my favourite but occasionally, I'll add just a touch of the glitz that caught my eye. ~ Lynda xo

I can see why this is a favorite area. I love the red chest. And I love the homey warm feel you have created in your home.

I love primitive and this room looks gorgeous. This looks like my favorite thing about New England. I practically live at Louisa May Alcotts house in Concord. Blessings, Karen

Catching Up

It's been awhile...as usual, not much going on.  As I look through photos on my phone, I decided to do a little blog post. Last Monday...
